First of all thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers over the last year. We have decided to create a blog to have an outlet for anyone who is interested in updates on Lances condition a place to come and be informed. The title of the blog "A future and a hope" comes from Jeremiah 29:11, which is a verse that has given our family alot of comfort through these challenging times. Because as my Dad has said, no matter what happens we have already won! I would encourage you to pass on the location of this site to anyone that you may believe would be interested in updates. -Justin

Transplant Day
It's finally here! Dad is having his transplant right now! Just thought I'd post a few pictures of what's going on!

Hi Lance, Penny and Family, Lance now you have part of your son living in you. You do look like you could be twins;) But what I also noticed is that the Son is living in you and you are looking more like Him everyday! Praying you will all be back home with us soon. Love in Christ. Toni Backes
Such amazing LIFE going into Lance. Love those pics!! By the way...Zoey's name means 'Life' and I think it's kind of cool that they had their major procedures on the same day. Her full name is Zoey Faith. :) Maybe we need to have a Zoey and Lance 'life of faith' meet. ( I would say reunion but sadly--they've never met in person.) Love you guys!!!
The only thing that gives away your age is those reading glasses. Otherwise, you and Nathan could be twins :-)
